- 4-½” solid Douglas Fir jamb standard and minimum – wider jamb sizes available
- Available with flat sill, full-bound jamb, or no bottom jamb allowing sash to close flush on counter top

- Square sticking and stop sash detail (no additional options)
- Standard minimum layout: 3-5/8” stiles, top and bottom rails overall

Hydraulic vs Crank Awning Windows: How the Gas Strut Opens
Most awning windows open with a hand crank, turning slowly until the sash reaches the angle you want. The Gas Strut Servery Awning Window works differently.
A gas spring lift system does the work in one motion, pushing the sash open to 92 degrees, the Cobb Custom standard, without a crank handle. Once open, a safety feature locks the sash in place automatically.
To close it, press the red button on the gas spring to release the lock, then use the exterior pull handle to bring the sash back down. It’s a soft-opening system, not soft-close, so the sash should always be closed by hand using the handle, never by hand pressure alone, and never with fingers under the sash.
This one-motion operation is part of what makes the servery window work well as a pass-through. There’s no crank handle taking up space at the counter, and the wide 92-degree opening gives a clear, unobstructed view and airflow the moment it’s open.
